The question still is, if this is not the best country to live in the world, which country is, and why are you not living there? It seems pretty silly not to seek to live in the best possible country, for you.

There are plenty of reasons that some people don't just get up and move to wherever they want to live. I'd move back to Canada in a heartbeat but there are plenty of logical reasons that stop me from doing so, many of them being the reasons I moved here in the first place!

Canada's #1 to me, but I'm not going to sit here and say it's the best country in the entire world to live in. It isn't.

I think the major answer to this is that people are settled in the U.S. because they grew up here. They have family they don't want to just abandon. Foreign countries mean a long time getting used to a foreign language before a good job can be found. That's too much for many people who are unhappy in the U.S. to handle, so they stay.

Does that make sense?

Whatever the reasons are behind the choice, let's hope that is the best choice for you. If there is a better choice, you would be foolish not to take it.

Sometimes you can't live in the best country for you, for one (do I even need to mention that on a visa site?). Also, every country will have faults. Even if you prefer one to the other, you can still be critical of some aspect of it.

I am the USC/petitioner.

why isn't it? why be here if it isn't?

You're the one stating that it's the best. Why can't you back that up with any actual answers? Other than that's how you feel? It's fine to have that opinion, but why get snippy when someone asks WHY you feel that way?

I've already explained why I'm here. Time for you to answer MY question.

Then why do you live here, and not some place better? There much be some reason why this is the best choice for you.

It suits my wife and I for now. In a few years something else may suite us better ..... time will tell and what happens during that time could lead to a different decision. Other Americans have left the US for their own reasons.

I keep hearing America is the best place to be, but nobody will tell me what that's based on. Quality of life? Education? Economy? Health? What is America #1 at?

america is number one at claiming number one.

Well, for many of the countries ranked better to live in than the U.S., it is very difficult to get a visa. I'd not like to be an illegal immigrant.

From the US, it is not difficult to get a visa to go almost anywhere, unless you are some sort of felon or another sort of undesirable.
