perhaps a moment of clarity for you. maybe this place isn't for you & you should leave. the USA is the best damn country in the world. it was yesterday, it is today, and it will be tommorrow.

Yes, thats what you keep telling others as well.

My wife and I have actually discussed it in the past being fully aware that there are other countries that have a great quality of life. Many folks here dont want to see or admit to that.

Its too bad, because if one can't see the problems one will never be able to fix them either.

Good for you.

There is nothing wrong with loving your country. There is something wrong with suggesting anyone with any complaints about it should leave, though. There's also something wrong with blind patriotism that means you shut out or ignore anything that goes against your #1 mentality.

Yes! My fiancee and I also discussed where we wanted to live extensively. We chose the U.S. for the kids' futures' sake. We even have a backup plan for me to leave the U.S. in case she can't get approved.

I agree with you. I also worry that those blinded by patriotism are somewhat unable to look for and try to improve the aspects of the country which desperately need work.

don't be such a negative nancy. this isn't moral decay, it's cultural evolution.

Everything is moral decay. Everything. Our society is just a rotting corpse of morals. Everything was better in the '50s when segregation existed, homosexuals were killed or forced into hiding, women were being domestically abused at alarming rates (and couldn't have a credit card), and lead was used to paint nurseries and children toys.

Actually, according to this, in the '50s, homosexuals were generally regarded as child murderers.

But holy #######, did Inglewood look a lot nicer back then!

While living and working in Asia for 3 years, I traveled to probably 20+ countries there. I never met 1 (one) person that wanted to move to the U.S. I met very few that even wanted to visit. I'd bet most of the illegal aliens don't even want to be here. They're only here for the $. Actually, I'm only here for the $. As soon as I get enough $, I'm taking all my redneck friend's advice and leaving permanently, since I don't love it here.

If I am not happy with my car, I could sell it and get a different car. I could also try to fix my car so that I like it more.

There are more things to do about not liking something than to toss it and get something else.

Exactly. I leave parties early if I don't like the company. It is okay to cater to yer own personal tastes. The intelligent person would not sit there and whine about this and that, when they know things are better somewhere else.

no. i told you that

You said it was the best country in the world. As if that's a fact. And suggested that people who disagree with your opinion (since that's all it is) should leave. Nobody said they weren't happy here.
