yes it is that simple. if you don't want to be here, you should leave.

That wasn't the message. Perhaps it might be better to say .... stop pretending that the US has no faults and perhaps we need to start thinking and doing differently. It should be viewed as constructive self critism.

If it's as simple as 'love it or leave it,' why would we ever elect a new president, build a new city, or change/add/remove laws?

I don't think it's love it or leave it. I think it's 'love it, change it, or leave it.'

I would also venture to say that the U.S. is so big, it's hard to say if you love it or not, depending on the part of it you're in. Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Alaska, San Francisco, and Nashville all have extremely different cultures, ways of life, and even climates. Making it as cut and dry as 'love it or leave it' isn't very good. For me, there are parts I would love and parts I would leave.

What would Xenu do?

'A Reality Check.' followed by that video clip, does not come across as constuctive self critism.

That's a great clip from a great tv series. I wish they'd make another season of it - the first run was really, really good.

Hollywood is not reality. Hollywood is a liberal pipe dream.

Guess I don't live or work in reality. Now I'm having an existential crisis.

Or one could simple recognize that there are a number of good places in the world and that there really isn't any exceptionally great place out there at all. When one lives in a country that lags behind other countries in so many areas and leads in so few, it's hard to see how that makes it the greatest place on earth. And one ought to be allowed to say that without inviting comments that one should move. We're all adults here, no?
