i'm talking specifically quebec beer - labatts is basically busch..

Well, it does have a better finish than busch or any other Budweiser product.

Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it is bad. I live in the land of microbreweries, and I would like to find a beer that the snooty crowd likes, that doesn't leave the taste of disinfectant in your mouth. I don't understand the appeal of bitter beers.

alcohol prices are crazy in BC, Canada. you can't get alcohol from grocery stores etc.... you have to go to these government run stores

Yes, but don't they still deliver? Seems most folks I visited had several cases on the back porch.

never heard of beer delivery..

It's done in Texas, often.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

What does everyone have against the Canadian francophones anyway?

Its not what everyone has against francophones, its what some francophones have against non-francophones and the rest of Canada.

The Quebec government has been whining over the same issue for decades and most Canadians are fed up with it.

I got pulled over for no seatbelt when I first moved there. The cop came up to the car and said something to me in French. I said something back to him in English, and he flipped out on me about speaking English to him. I guess the moron didn't notice the Texas plates. They definitely have a hard on for English speaking Canadians there. After being there for awhile I learned quickly when dealing with the Qubecois and speaking English, to bring up quickly that I was from the U.S. They usually gave me a pass for that. Except for jerkoff cops of course.

I say let them separate and be their own country.

Good for you.

There is nothing wrong with loving your country. There is something wrong with suggesting anyone with any complaints about it should leave, though. There's also something wrong with blind patriotism that means you shut out or ignore anything that goes against your #1 mentality.

Evylin you are always the voice of reason. :)

I love my country but I am also not blind to the fact that we are not the best at everything.

To think that way is a little bit like the parent who thinks their little Johnny is the best player, singer etc even though he stinks.

i am a craft beer elitist. the top selling american domestics are all gross, i won't drink them. i want high alcohol and crazy hops. everything else is a waste of money.

My husband has been making his own beer. It has high alcohol but it is so bitter!

I hate Bud which seems to be very popular. I do love Sam Adams summer ale though.

you wouldn't be the first person to tell me a certain beer is gross to them, it's just personal taste. i haven't had too many california beers but i don't take notes on each sip with my pinky up or anything :)

Yes, they can be an arrogant bunch ..... Not very Canadian eh.

I don't have fond memories of the Quebec establishment.

I have found that it all averages out in the end. What Canada charges in higher taxes, the US charges in upfront money, such as health insurance. Also home prices in Canada are dirt cheap compared to the big cities in the US. I could buy a mansion in Canada for what I pay for my house in Mass.

I agree, some things are really cheap here, but healthcare costs can certainly negate the cheapness of white consumer goods.
