I like the piece of America I am sitting on right now and I don't need to be sucking on a crack pipe to appreciate it. If America isn't the best place for you right now, then perhaps you should select another place to live, unless you enjoy catering to yer masochistic tendencies. I have no problem with Germans thinking their country is the best in the world. That doesn't detract at all from real Americans thinking America is the greatest nation in the history of the planet.

Or one could simple recognize that there are a number of good places in the world and that there really isn't any exceptionally great place out there at all. When one lives in a country that lags behind other countries in so many areas and leads in so few, it's hard to see how that makes it the greatest place on earth. And one ought to be allowed to say that without inviting comments that one should move. We're all adults here, no?
