Thread closed for TOS violations

If a thread is going to be closed for TOS violations, can the mod say what part of the TOS was violated? This one was closed by Charles with no explanation other than "Closed for TOS violations"

I started the thread with good intent since Paul hasn't posted for 2 months. I had no intent to belittle him in any way. It was all in good natured fun and I think that he would take it that way. I did a similar thread a year or so ago when Gary disappeared for a month or so. Paul was a regular poster here for a long time and I merely wondered what happened to him and I put some humor in the thread. I had no idea it was a TOS violation. I have also made threads in the past for Scandal and Marc.

If Paul was banned, he is no longer a member and the TOS doesn't apply. So...in a way you got your answer. He is not banned, is on the active member list, and therefore the TOS applies.

There was another member here who had been perma banned for over a year, maybe closer to two and a thread was started about him and it was open for about a year and then it was closed due to TOS violation even though he was banned the entire time.
