Us too!! It came at 9:15pm CST 7 months and 2 days after NOA1 !!! :D:D :D

I did write to my congressman and both senators. One of them responded (Mark Kirk, IL) and they made an inquiry last week. This morning I got a call from their office saying my case was with an officer and I should hear something within 2 weeks. 12 hours later its approved!! The letter I wrote is below. I am going to write all of them again urging them to continue the pressure on USCIS (and saying thank you to the one who responded). I hope all of you who have gotten your petitions approved lately will do the same until we are back to normal processing times!

--

Dear Congressman xxx:

On DATE 2012 my British fiancé and I filed for a K1 Fiancé visa through the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). At the time of submission we were told it would be around an 85 day wait before we heard about the next step for our case (WACxxxxxxxxx). It is currently over 2XX days. K1 fiancé processing has been halted for five months without explanation. When we try to inquire with USCIS about the delay, no information is available and we are required to wait 30 days before making another inquiry. The official government website currently lists out-of-date and conflicting processing times. Though we have tried in multiple ways, we have no information.

I am writing to seek your help.

• I'd like to know if there is anything you can do to help expedite our case or intervene on our behalf?

• Or, I would appreciate knowing where I can best address my concern, and what advice you have for us in this situation, given that direct communication with USCIS has not proven successful.

• Could I please make an appointment to consult with you in person?

We are patient, hard working, honest people, truly in love. We are currently living over 7,000 miles apart and are trying our best to plan a wedding, purchase a home, and are looking forward to beginning married life together. We have followed all legal procedures for my fiancé to gain residency in the US, and the only thing we are asking for is permission to get married and be together.

Your advocacy would be tremendously appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours Sincerely,

NAME
