fiance was contacted to submit passport

Our k1 visa was initially refused on the basis of public charge. About 2 weeks ago, my fiancé submitted new evidence of my employment and sufficient income. Today he was contacted to submit his passport as soon as possible, but they did not say if the visa is approved or not. I checked the CEAC website and it still says refused.

Is there some other reason they might request his passport?

They only usually want your passport if they are going to stick your visa in it!

Well, what do I know? I just checked CEAC site again (obsess much? :)) and now it changed from "refused" to "ready"... but I'm still little confused because the paragraph below it reads like it's before an interview is scheduled. They didn't schedule a second interview, they just said "drop off your passport" Now I still don't really know what to make of that

They really only have a few different options so the status sometimes bounces around. Just drop off the passport as instructed, your visa is ready!

Make sure he submits a current police record and translated copy of it as well. The embassy requested my husbands passport (that was all at the time), then three weeks later they had to call and tell us they needed a current copy of the police record before they could print the visa. The Algerian police records expire after 3 months. Better to be safe than another possible delay!

Congratulations by the way! :star:

Thank you so much for the heads up about the police clearance!! :) Definitely hoping to avoid any further delays.. ..still, I'll exhale only when the visa is in hand LOL

COMPLETELY understandable! :star:

He will be here before you know it now, inshallah!!
