Hi Everyone,

I am just putting together my AOS paxckage after getting married on a K1 visa. I know we do not have to do the full medical and only include the vaccination supplement.

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to record that with our package. I have heard of people writing a little note explaining the did the medical overseas, or including a copy of the medical done for the K1, or just referencing the section where it states K1 visa holders do not need to new medical.

Anyone have some advice on what we should do/how we should word it?

I do have a copy of my medical and vaccination supplement?

Any ideas or advice would be great.

Thanks so much.

David

If you had all the required vaccinations at the time of the K-1 medical and they are all marked off on a properly filled out DS-3025, then just send a copy of your DS-3025 with your AOS paperwork.

No explanation or anything like that?

Thanks Jay-Kay

Not really, but you could state on your cover letter something like "DS-3025 Vaccination Worksheet showing all required vaccinations were done" when you list it.

No worries, will do. Do you think there would be any harm in adding a copy of the completed medical also?

No, would not hurt anything if you want to add a copy of your medical too. At least that way they cannot send you an RFE saying they have no medical for you because they lost the one you turned in at your POE.

I put the packet together as per the instructions (in exact order). I only included the vaccination checklist as they requested.

Yeah I have done the same. I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to include a copy of my medical also (I got a copy at POE) some have said to include it, others said its not needed. If it wont hurt and will help me to avoid an RFE on the off chance they lose the original then I guess I will put it in. I just dont want to put it in if it will confuse things for them etc...

That would have to be very rare right? I dont want to be stressing about that for the next 6 months.

You think a copy of medical will help on the off chance something horrible like that happens?

Including a copy of your medical will not hurt anything. It is doubtful it is needed, but if you include it and they don't need it, they will just toss it. If it will in fact help your case, then its all good. If it will worry you about not including it, then I would just include it.

Unfortunately it happens more often than it should, and is not really what I would call rare. Don't stress over it though. Including the copy of your medical along with the DS-3025 should give you assurance. If they happened to lose the medical paperwork you turned in at your POE, there will still be a copy of your medical documents in your file, so there should be no need for an RFE from them for missing medical papers.

OK, I would have thought they would need the original of the medical but I guess a copy and the DS3025 will prove that it was done.
