Please for your input...I already submitted my N-400 and marked all questions in this section with NO. But reading someone's post on here triggered my memory.

I was in a MVA accident in 2010 and I was given a ticket of $100+ for failure to yield at a stop sign. I paid the fine and that was it. It has since fallen off my record and my record is now clean....

I'm scared! Am I in trouble? I completely forgot about it!!!! What do I do?!?!?!

NickD, Vanessa& Tony?? help!!!!

lots of people get tickets. if it's not over 500.00.i would not worry to much.if it make you feel better you can bring a copy of the ticket or a receipt that it was paid to the interview. when your called in the office with the io your file is on the desk your asked to rise your right hand to tell the truth he or she goe's over each item.so tell them about the ticket, I think it's nothing to worry about.

Would be tempted to print out the section on traffic tickets in the N-400 instruction booklet and show that to your IO if he even wants proof you paid that 100 buck fine.

Luck is getting a reasonable IO, even more luck if you get one that can speak English.

ok. i'm so worried because they asked to list ANY citations, and I completely forgot. It wasn't DUI or drug related. Not in my character :)

Can you point me to where I can find this information for the N-400? I'm looking at the N-400 instructions for Section 10 and it says to state Yes if it applies to you.

I remember in the I-751 instructions it stated that you didn't need to list anything if it was under $500.00 and not DUI or drug related.

Go to your county court and have them print out a record showing no fines are outstanding. You may also want to get a copy of your driving record. Showing it is clear. You can explain this to your IO during your interview. We went through the same situation and we both passed in the end so you should be fine.

I remember in the I-751 instructions it stated that you didn't need to list anything if it was under $500.00 and not DUI or drug related.

Latest N-400 instructions on the right top of page five states in effect, traffic violations not drunk related under $500.00 need not be reported.

In regards to being detained by the police or whatever in that question, yes we were detained for any reason. When leaving the Milwaukee field office headed north on Highway 41, we were detained for 45 minutes by a police officer due to a major tanker truck accident ahead. Couldn't turn around, but just had an interesting conversation with that police officer to help kill the time. Should we have reported that? We were first in line with over two miles of cars behind us, so we were the ones detained by that police officer. Now if we were second in line, could be interpreted as just a traffic jam.
