I had my interview for my k1 visa today at the US embassy in accra. Although my fiance accompanied me to the embassy the security did not allow him to enter. Now after presenting tons of emails, skype log, whatsapp chats and all other cards and tickets and boarding passes and answering all questions i was asked about him i was still given a white sheet to present more evidence of proof of an ongoing relationship with him. I pointed out to the consular that he was there with me but the security didn't allow him to enter but she said so long as Im not in front of her with him or not carrying his passport(which i didn't know i could use) i need to bring more proof.

What more can i send after all that i took already?

Unfortunately, this seems to be a common tune at the Ghana embassy. My fiance was told the same thing. His interview is tomorrow and I am just hoping and praying for the best outcome. This time we are going back with more pictures. It is surely a shame because they are not even looking at the documentation that you are presenting. I do not know what is going on in this office. Too many fraudsters are having a heavy burden on the real cases. When I resubmitted I did an affidavit about our relationship. It was just a brief summary of of our relationship signed and notarized. I had my friend there also do an affidavit saying that it was a bonifed relationship and his mother had a document signed by an attorney of the court. I sent in screenshots of when we announced our engagement on Facebook with people's comments, and other Facebook comments to show that it's a real relationship. I went to look for a wedding dress and I sent in copies of that order form . They are very vauge in what they want, when they don't even look at what you have. All I can say is good luck. May the odds be in our favor.

Do you have money transfer receipts? When was the last time you saw each other? Is there any new and old pictures of two of you?

Good luck

My fiancé's interview in Ghana was on 3/13/13. I attended it with him and they let me in with my passport. They may have increased security since the Boston bombings, because I can't imagine why they wouldn't let him in if he had his passport.

As far as evidence, in 2010 we were denied for the same reason. In addition to what you stated you had, we also had these:

40 pictures from 2 previous visits that included me with his family. I put captions and dates on all of them.

Over 300 emails

30 instant message chats

2011-Present phone records included text messages

Letters from our family members stating we were a bonafide relationship

Copies of money transfers

I think this is it. We had so much stuff it couldn't fit through the window and the CO didn't even ask to speak to me. Like the member said above, they didn't even really examine the evidence. They just looked at the fact that it was A LOT of evidence, so bulk it up as much as you can.

I hope this helps and good luck!

Your case is another example of why it's important for the U.S. petitioner to be on the consular premises during the interview. If the beneficiary hands the petitioner's U.S. passport to the consul, it can considerably improve the chances of being granted the visa.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
