there is no option for NONE.

if you're applying for a visa, then that means your fiance probably hasn't visited the u.s., and how else could you have visited your fiance unless you went to a third country? (also if it's none, then it could fit in the less than one month category, could it not?) :D

Mine is none and I would imagine overall there are quite a few couples out there like this.

I met my fiance while he was here in my hometown pursuing his Master's degree. I wanted to go visit this year - right around this time, but unfortunately finances just wouldn't allow it.

And technically yes it could fit in the less than one month category, but that implies that you have visited your SO's country.

The person you're directing that question to has a fiance in Canada. Everyone has to apply for a visa, no matter what country their SO is from if they want to marry in the US. Even Canada. It's very very easy for a Canadian to get to the US to see their SO. Who knows, maybe they met while he/she was living here going to school or possibly working?

Just becuase you fall in love with someone from a different country doesn't mean you met that person in a different country. Not everyone posting on this board met through a foreign brides website, either.

As for me... I have no idea how long we lived in England when I was a baby... so not counting that, I'd say maybe 3 weeks total, separated into three visits.

He's spent far more time stateside both with and without me (holiday with friends several years ago).

wow, some of these are shocking. I hope that you have spent more time together elsewhere!

I can't imagine marrying someone I spent 10-14 days with, EVER!@ Not to mention knowing NOTHING about their country/culture/background, which IMO, is HUGE.

I lived in England for 2 years & met him there.

I came to visit Rob for two weeks (in two different opportunities) and then he went to Venezuela for almost 2 weeks. Then we appplied for the Visa and I came to the US. Been here for 13 months now...:)

ETA:

That is true when cultures are radically different.

Even though some people dont get to spend a lot of time phisically together, there are other ways to communicate and 'be together', in some cases I believe that since you are not so 'distracted' with the physical aspect of the relationship, you develop different (deeper?? stronger??) ties. We used to talk on the phone EVERY night for the year or so that we were in different countries. Never got bored of talking to each other, up to this day we have an amazing communication.

I guess you have not read the other threads the past couple months or so discussing your concerns above.

We are married over 2 years now, happily, after only being together for 2 weeks before he came on the K1 visa. So obviously it can happen. Even though you can't imagine it, it happens, and happens successfully for people. I would have loved to spend more time together, but I could not afford flying to India a lot and Sujeet could not get a tourist visa for the US. We talked for 2 years on the net and phone before meeting in person, and it was 11 months after going to India that he could come on the K1 visa. We felt we knew each other very well even before I went to India. And during 2 years of talking before I went to India, you don't think I learned about him, his country, and his culture??

I really think people take it for granted how much time they managed to spend together while some of us were not able to for many reasons. My heart longed to be with him every day. I couldn't be, because I did not have lots of money or the ability to stay in India for long periods of time. But I still knew him. You should feel blessed that you were able to spend so much time together.

I wouldn't have been able to imagine doing it this way either. But it happened and went perfectly for us.
