Last week my fiancée was involved in a serious car accident. She will be ok, but full recovery may take months. I know we have 4 months from NOA2 to do the interview, but not sure if that will be enough. How long can the embassy extend this? Will I just need to call the embassy and explain the situation? We have only received Packet 3, but not submitted it.

NOA1 - 8/24/2012

NOA2 - 3/18/2013 Only took 207 days at CSC

If i remember correctly, the extension would be for another 4 months. Maybe someone more experienced can confirm this.

This is all I could find. Suggest you call or email the embassy to find out how to request an extention.

My Petition Expired – Can It Be Extended?

The I-129F petition is valid for four months from the date of approval by USCIS. A Consular Officer can extend the validity of the petition if it expires before visa processing is completed.
