Sonicliz, I noticed you chose St. Patrick's day for your wedding day. What is the significance for you? We have one of the biggest celebrations on that day in the entire US here in Savannah so that just kindof jumped out at me. Just think, if he gets the visa next week you'll have to officially tie the knot a little earlier to beat the 3 month deadline. I hope that won't be too big a disappointment for you. :innocent:

that's the only saturday in march that was still open for the place we want to have it! (i am actually a little ticked off it will be on st. patrick's day -- my alcoholic family doesn't need another excuse to get drunk!)

we're already planning on getting married sooner. the problem is my dad's still in the military, and he already knows he won't be in town for all of january and february, so we have to have the big ceremony later. but we're going to do be officially married probably in december inchallah! (that is if he's here then!)

timeline doesn't matter.

Someday I will upgrade my computer and be able to watch movies on my computer without it freezing up when I try. I bought this one in 2002 (I think) and it is already so outdated! I dream of owning a laptop, but I don't mind waiting - having Abdel in my life is so much better so I can wait. Of course, by the time I can afford one I will be out of school so I won't need it so much then.

I really need to hook up the line to the TV in the kitchen again so Abdel doesn't have to miss any of his movies when he's in there. When we renovated it got moved and never hooked up again. It's a 20 year old Sony Trinitron, but it still works good. You just have to have the remote to change anything because all of the buttons except the power button don't work any more.

Jess, do you get TV in English there?

ETA: I just found out Starbucks make the chocolate croissant that I loved while I was in Germany, but it's still not as good as the ones in Germany.

Does anyone know if the USCIS works on Saturdays or Sundays?

We had touches on the weekend before. I think sometimes they work overtime if they are behind, but I doubt they answer the phones!

In my over analysis of trying to figure out USCIS :P I wonder if they have data processers working on weekends and nights or if there is some automatic computer system that updates files and things so that touches show?

I am lucky because my job provides a laptop for me. and I get the whole IT team to handle any problems. I am thinking about getting a desktop or my own laptop, but it is just so much money which I would rather spend traveling. I think my fiance would like to have one for the house when he comes. He knows nothing about computers and it was like pulling teeth to get him to set up an email account so we could stay in touch. But he has said he would like to learn computers.

I want an Apple for sure, but you are so right about them becoming outdated so quickly!

I plugged in the DVD and have been watching "TV" all morning and I am just mesmerized by the picture. It's so big :P (only a 24in, but compared to my laptop screen its like the movie theater!)

I MISS VJ!! I just haven't had time to come on with my new job and I have some serious catching up to do today. I am also working on my graduate school application. After proding by my husband I have decided to start in March for my masters. I told him I wanted him to finish school first but he said "You're too smart, don't worry about me." So we'll see what happens. We're job hunting for him today. He hates the job that he's at now and really wants something else so we're bringing back applications and stopping by a few other places. We also have a box of stuff ready to ship home for his familiy we just have to find a sweater for his mom. Mikhail (our little guy) is starting at a Montessori preschool on Monday and I'm excited for him but sad that when I come home for lunch I won't get a hug and kiss from him :(. Youssef is also starting his ESL classes/ remedial courses at the technical college on Monday. So it will be a busy week for us again - oh yea and we get the keys to our new house on Wednesday! We're going to try to finish moving in by the end of next weekend as our GC interview is a week from Monday! (OMG gasps!) So that's all here in cold Wisconsin - have a great day!

O! I went to Montessori school. I loved it! I made my mother cry because I went right in to the school building without saying good bye because I was so excited.

I even learned Spanish... but I can only count in spanish now.

What is going on around here? It's 8:23 AM Eastern time and nobody has started a Saturday thread! The world is falling apart! :clock:

M4E is posting but not slipping any news, so that is sounding like a good thing - hopefully she'll be posting Visa in Hand any day now. :dancing:

I know we can't expect to see Jasman since he's slept through the last two weekends, but Charles, you're ex-military - you should be awake by now! :bonk:

Where is the insult trio? Just because you live in California is no excuse to still be asleep - it's Saturday morning - you have all day to be rude and hateful. What are you doing wasting time sleeping? -_-

Fine, I'll go do my boring research and read another boring source. You guys are not being a very good distraction today! :help:

When have I insulted you Liz? In fact, the last time I posted directly to you was out of concern for the information you were posting here on a public forum. And I'm sure your statement here isn't meant to be an insult at all? Or are you the Georgia Insult Soloist?

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

VJ Rule 501: Insults are excusable when they are masked as a response to a fellow member's behavior.

Example: Anyone can insult "Sarah and Hicham" or make digging comments and others can reply in agreement but this is *different* than what is perceived a direct insult, and those engaging consider themselves above the behavior they find offending.
