I need someones help. My Fiance's passport and DD was returned after holding the passport for almost 3 months along with the same blue sheet w/ the checked statement requiring further adm processing. They also added numbers to the old case number. The last time he sent his passport he was put under security checks in Washington as per DOS. What do I do now? I am totally lost! Has anyone experienced a similar situation. I feel I'm back to square one w/ no explanations.

I am not much of an expert on this and your question is not detailed but the blue sheet sounds like a 221-G. If it is that is an "intent to deny". You should have received a similar blue sheet at the interview. It means you have an amount of time to provide evidence why your application should not be denied. If they do not hear from you in that period of time, the passport is returned to the fiancee and the file is sent to the NVC where you can appeal the decision.

Yes he did recieve this blue sheet after the interview, but no evidence was required . all it says is that case requires further adm processing. The second blue notice is the copy of the first blue 221 G notice. My question is why are they doing this and why have they added add'l numbers to the original case number.

Is this a sign for rejection or is this some kind of procedure in chennai consulate?

I can understand if further evidence was required , but still the consulate is not requesting any documents. All it says case nedds further adm processing as did the first letter.

That is the first time I have heard of them not wanting something. I got a 221-G a year ago and they asked for more proof of a relationship. One visit to the embassy, a few e-mails and a visit to my congressman's office and we got the visa.

From what I remember at the time they said if it was not satisfied it would be returned to the NVC and I could file an appeal there. My guess is the number is to track it at the NVC and you will have to file an appeal there.

I don't think they are questionig for evidence. I gave them pictures of engagement party, hotel receipts, airline tickets , emails, and telephone bills. My question is why my case got 2 ad processing notices . There no request for evidence, or documents.

I've heard the 2 main things they look for at the interview is the petitioners income and proof of ongoing relationship.

I am a healthcare worker making 80k/yr, yet they still wanted a co sponsor b/c i worked part time in 2005 and went to India therfore I did not meet the poverty guidelines. So my brother who is also a healthcare worker signed the affadavit of support. They accepted this. My question is why did I get a second 221 G letter? They are not requesting any evidence. Why did they return his passport after holding it for 3 months. They also assigned an additional 7 digits to my existing case number MDR.......

Is this a normal part of the process?
