I keep reading the I-130 is a waste of time, obsolete, closed, not goven....which one is it? Have I been sitting around waiting for nothing to happen???? I need clarification this is far from a walk in the park. WHAT should I do now? How do I get my husband to the

States ?

The I-129f you fill out for the K-3 is typically a waste of time, the I-130 for a CR/IR-1 is the normal process. Read the guides for the CR/IR-1, the first step is the I-130.

The I-130 is the crucial part of a spousal petition, I think you mean some people say the K3 is obsolete.

Both the K3 and the CR-1 spousal visa start with a I-130. Most people these days get a CR-1 because it is just as fast as the K3, the K3 is often administratively closed at NVC stage, and with the K3 you need to do AOS when you get to the USA, which costs money and means time spend not working. There are very, very rare circumstances where the K3 is better (if you can get it).

K3 is obsolete. But a cr1 process is from 4+ months but normally about a year total. Some are shorter, some are longer.
