I agree. It would change public opinion far quicker than hurling insults of Islamaphobe at everyone. No greater threat to the image of Muslims than these extremist.

How many have to speak out before public opinion changes? Because they speak out quite often and it seems to go mostly ignored.

Ignoring what goes against your biased thinking?? SHOCKER!

I bet 10-1 he is part of a organized network and they are draining him like a swamped boat for intel right now. They just don't want to tip the hand to all the people he is selling out right now.

These people, or people like them, do not represent Muslims. So why are you demanding that the Muslims on this board come here and condemn the acts of these people? What does it have to do with them? Why do they have to constantly distance themselves from the radicals of their religion? Do you feel the need to do that every time a Christian does something offensive?

It's disgusting that these are your expectations. That if there isn't an outcry after every incident, then it somehow means they're "with" them and not against them. It's ridiculous that you are holding an entire religion responsible when the people who are truly evil are going against what their religion represents.

Let's live in your ideal world and say that every time something happens, there is an outcry (and honestly, there often is. There are plenty of "Muslims for peace" organizations) ... would that change your opinion at all? You seem to ignore it already. So what would it accomplish?

Will it stop people from judging the entire religion? Doubt it.

If I identified myself as a christian, which I don't ( nice assumption) and there was a world wide network of people that "IN THE NAME OF CHRISTIANITY" had killed thousands and thousands of innocent women and Children, and I was constantly pointing fingers at people who dared say anything negative about Christianity, Yes I would speak out.

You are missing my point. I used Christianity as an example, I haven't a clue about your religion and don't care. My point is that you're demanding people speak out against these acts - when in fact, they do. There are organizations dedicated to speaking out against these acts.

But that doesn't change opinion, does it? Because you're still demanding more as if it's helping and it isn't.

I have not demanded anything. I am just pointing out that whenever we have, yet another coordinated attack in the name of Islam, we never seem to get condemnation. All we get is called Islamaphobic, becuse yet again we have dead laying in our street at the hands of people who claim they did it because of Islam.

After a while we start drawing correlations.

You are getting condemnation of the attacks. I linked you to a condemnation of this attack. And it isn't good enough. So what's the point?

This OP itself is about Muslims wary of giving these two bombers acknowledgement as "fellow Muslims."

Doesn't matter. People will think what they think regardless of how many speak out against it.

They'll just ignore that anyone's speaking out at all, like our friend here is doing. :)

I can't imagine people expecting me to "condemn" or apologize for terrible acts I had nothing to do with - all because the actual criminals say they're representing my religion.

Let's say we started having terror attacks by Catholics, that killed thousands. All the attacks were made in the name of Catholicism and aimed at furthering some radical view of Catholicism. Let's also say the Pope and leadership of the church rather than denouncing them and helping stop them, attacked anyone that drew a correlation between the attacks and Catholics as Catholic phobes.

Tell me you would not draw some conclusions.

Catholicism got a big black eye because a select few in the leadership allowed child molesters to operate with out punishment or condemnation, Tell me why we can not hold Islam to the same standards or even dare point out that a problem is present.

You. Are. Not. Getting. It.

You are calling out for people to condemn these attacks - and THEY ARE. They do every damn time. And that still doesn't change public opinion. So what more do you want them to do? People like you are ignoring them anyway.

Since Catholics fall under the Christian umbrella, does that mean all Christians denominations need to issue a statement specifically condemning it?
