not to my knowledge

My point is that an entire religion should not HAVE to speak out against these acts (even though they have before) because these acts do not represent their beliefs.

Radical Muslims do not represent Muslims any more than radical Christians should represent Christians.

Radical Muslims do not represent Muslims no more than radical Christians should represent Christians.

But it is easier for christians to point fingers to other religions, so they don't have to deal with all the crimes perpetrated by their own ilk...

I agree. But in our society, silence can be interpreted as complicity. Probably would help their public image by distancing themselves from extremists. I'm sure Fox news is already all over this.

Plenty of Muslims speak out against violence when it's done in the name of their religion. How many have to do it before they're distanced from the extremists? Does it have to be someone in particular? And will anybody believe them anyway?

Someone here posted countless Twitter posts from the day of the Boston bombings. And before anyone knew a damn thing, they were calling Muslims disgustingly derogatory names and talking about eradicating all of them.

Who has to speak out and how often before that kind of attitude is gone?

they are named? they murdered in the name of god when? they did it where?

Moral relativity is quite the savior... LOL.

'When' only matters if you advocate there should be no statute of limitations for murder or genocide in the name of any of the gods of which you speak.

I'm not suggesting that Muslims speaking out against violence done in the name of their religion will resolve the hatred that gets thrown their way after an event like this. But I think a lot of people WANT to blame Islam as the cause for all radicalization. So its not really even fair that they have to condemn it when likely in the minds of many Muslims, they're no more associated with this act of terror than your average white Christian. But, that's the stigma in this country and I would suggest that when given the opportunity they would condemn actions like this so people won't think they are associated with it........ Even though said people will probably think it anyway.

Nothing will stop them.

There is no evidence that these bombings were caused by religious reasons and yet many are taking it for granted already.

Some are calling them Chechen although one of them was Russian and the other American.

Unawareness is self serving.

These acts DO get condemned. What difference does it make?

Yeah I know. Probably none. And I'm not saying they should HAVE to. I'm saying, they prob should or that I would if I was them. But I'd prob be pissed that people keep lumping me into the same group as extremists. I mean, how many different "denominations" are there anyway? There has to be many right? I'm not sure why Christians have such a tough time understanding this when their own religion is cut up into so many different factions. Would Baptists need to specifically come out and condemn the priests guilty of ...... well you know.... in the Catholic church? Of course not because in the minds of Baptists, they're in no way the same as the Catholic church. Even though both are Christians.
