Homosexuality is normal because it is observed in the animal kingdom. Well, rape exists in the animal kingdom too. Are civil rights for rapists next?

Their point is that penguins aren't coxed into homosexuality by culture, "not having a dad", or whatever people think causes people to "turn gay." They're saying that its a genetic thing based on observations made on other animals. The dumb part (for me) comes when you say, well they also rape and brutalize their victims like it all falls under the same umbrella.

If male on male sex is natural and worthy of respect solely because it occurs in nature, then why aren't rape and necrophilia accorded the same courtesy?

consent.

Yes. Besides, I think this is likely going to be a supporting argument. I doubt that someone uses this as their sole justification for homosexuality. Likely this is something they use to explain to people that they were born different and its something they can't help. Like I said, using the animal kingdom rules out most of the choice arguments.

Because one is consensual and the other is not... It's really that simple

I thought animals were unable to provide consent.

Make up your minds, libs.

They are unable to provide consent. That is why it is not a crime for animals and is for humans

As everyone else said, the key word is consent.

If to people both want to have sex with each other, is there a reason to stop them? The only answers I have heard are things like "it's not natural," "God doesn't like it," and "it's against our tradition."

Although one can point out homosexuality in the animal world as proof that it is natural, there are lots of things people do that are not natural, but they are allowed to do. Piercing their ears, making their teeth look like fangs, splitting their tongues, circumcision, and many other things are not natural, but are perfectly allowed.

As for the "God doesn't like it" argument, there are lots of things that gods don't like, depending on the god, and the religion. The separation of church and state should mean that there are no laws based on solely religious purposes. Perhaps a religion will come along which requires homosexual activity and gay marriage... should someone who believes in such a religion not be allowed to practice it, despite freedom of religion?

As for the tradition argument, there is no one tradition in the United States. Tradition varies based on region, and being a country of immigrants, tradition varies based on household.

Let people do what they want in their bedroom. As long as they aren't harming anyone, why should it matter?

What would Xenu do?

How is this thread even existing? I think this takes the cake for least rational comparison and least intelligent argument I've seen on this forum. :wow:

What was the word supposed to be?

Well you could always reread it, as I corrected it, but it was intended to be "existing".

To not spook you with big words or delve into further existential discussions: I was expressing my feelings as to how ridiculous this topic is.
