Hi guys,

I have a question. I had been working with a conservation company since 2011 & 2012 on J-1 visas. I'm now wanting to go back with a new company who are willing to put me on a B1 visa. The trouble is with my J-1 last time in 2012 my company and I parted ways. I'm not sure if they cancelled my J1 due to the time I spent with them working and the number of volunteer hours I put in so I think we just ended on a mutual working agreement. However they never confirmed or said they were going to cancel it. If they did then I overstayed by 2 months in the US before I went back.

My I-94 was never taken when I left and I never received any stamps with dates which when I left so I'm wondering if the US knew when I departed?. Also in my J1 visa the expiration date was 09/12/2012 and I left the US 30/11/2012.

Does anyone know if I need to declare this when I apply for the B1 or will they know if it was revoked and I overstayed? (even though my company never told me they were cancelling it)

Hope someone can help!

Thanks.

You can not work on a B1, so the rest is probably irrelevant.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

B1 visas are not work authorized (I assume the conservation company is in the US).
