Will an early biometrics have anything to do with my AP and EAD-application?

Hello,

just received my biometrics appointment - and I was planning on doing an early walk in this wednesday (I live in the new york area, does anyone know any good offices and when you should go there? I hear the Brooklyn office is pretty chill?). However, will me doing the biometrics early have anything to do with my i-131 and i-765 applications? I want my i-131 (AP) accepted as soon as possible and want to do whatever I can to speed up the process but I don't even know if the biometrics has anything to do with that.

My actual appointment for bio is on the 7th of may...

Please let me know what you think

Biometrics is taken so they can begin the background checks. It does not really have anything to do directly with the forms. BUT when the background check is completed they can continue processing your forms. It does not technically speed up the process though it could help your background checks get finished earlier.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Since you are filing for all four you will get an interview before your EAD/AP is processed. Yes your biometrics plays a role in your processing, it is a part of your background screening. The quicker it is completed, the sooner they can start your background screening. You need to make sure where you are going takes walk-ins.

... You need to make sure where you are going takes walk-ins.

How can you verify if the location takes walk-ins? Dave will have to go to the Bakersfield office and this is written under their information " Fingerprinting services are by appointment only and are related to an application for an immigration benefit". Does this mean walk-in service is not available?

The only way one could REALLY know is by attempting an early walk in with your appointment notice. Asking when you get there if they will accept you or not.

I have seen people say places do not accept you but then people who went to the same place were let in for them. Its also best to go on the day that the appointment is on, such as Thursday scheduled day, go on a Thursday around the time and ask. Some places only accept the appointments on certain days of the week others do them through out the week at only certain times of day.

Thanks for the advice, Inky.

It sounds a bit risky considering I'd have to take a day off work to drive Dave there. It's located 1.5 hours from us (no public transportation). I would hate to lose a day's wages only to have him turned away at the door. We may just have to suck it up and wait until his appointment.

Hmm, yeah... As I said, I live in New York and my appointment is on Varick St.

I might go there tomorrow, monday, and just ask. I wonder what time is the best? I've heard they open at 8am. Some people say you should always go on wednesdays, does anyone ahve any experience with this?

I want to get it done as soon as possible.

And what does "Since you are filing for all four you will get an interview before your EAD/AP is processed" mean? I applied for an EAD/AP so I could leave the country while i waited for my application to go through as I've heard it's an lenghty process...?

I did a biometrics walk in today and it was a piece of a cake. But now what..? They said I didn't have to do anything, that my fingerprints automagically will end up at USCiS... Is that true?

I just don't want to delay the process because of my neglience.

You don't do anything but sit and wait.
