This is odd. But looks like your case is moving along. Keep us informed I am concerned why they would approve and then send out RFE.

It turns out the RFE concerns my step kids - I sent multiple I-130s together in one packet. My wife's was approved. My local office is only 30 minutes away so I should get the letter by Tuesday. I'll see what's up with the kids in a day or two.

If I am not mistaken I believe the letter will come from the service center (NBC) but either way you should get it very soon. Thank you for sharing. What did you do specifically to get your approval so fast besides go to an info. pass appointment. I went to a info. pass appointment on April 26th and they told me just to wait. LOL.

I dont think I did anything special. I only asked for the status of my case and I told the IO that a Tier 2 IO from the 800 number had said I needed to come in on an InfoPass to get an update. I think it was just lucky timing that my case was assigned to be worked the same week as my appointment.

IMO, the letter will be coming from the Dallas office, and NOT MSC.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Well Todd I hope it was just lucky since our NOA1 is 6 days behind yours. I told my wife about your approval and she got all happy but I told her do not get your hopes up because every case is different. For example the IO could of given your case more attention because children are involved. We do not have any children between us. Thank you very much for your feedback. I am leaving in 3 days to visit her and hope when I get back we also can have an approval.

there's a lot of folk in the I-130 adjudication unit - so bear that in mind when thinking of 'IOs' in the Dallas Office.

any 'IO' you speak to, at the glass, is not part of the I-130 Adjudication Unit.

Other IOs work in the I-130 Adjudication Unit.

Unless you somehow force the IO behind the glass to talk with someone in the I-130 Adjudication Unit, yer really not getting 'the real info' on what's what with yer casefile.

IOs abound in the Dallas Office - they are assigned to different areas, different units. The folk 'behind the glass' are never the fellas reviewing casefiles. At least, not on the day you walk in. They might have done it 3 weeks ago, but know nothing of your case, even when 'looking it up' on the computer in front of them.
