On May 6th, I spoke with a tier 2 IO who informed me that my case was in the queue at the Dallas Field Office.

My case is at the Dallas Field Office and I was mailed this update after my inquiry:

"Your case is currently in queue to be scheduled for an interview. An appointment notice will be mailed to the address on file."

Do they usually queue interviews at the local offices and any idea why they would want to interview me?

ToddT - I say the interview ain't gonna happen. Read my profile, there's some writing of it there.

IMO - studying prior stuff here at VJ -

WHEN a casefile was sent to the local office, it was SOLELY because the petitioner was to be interviewed.

Now that casefiles (since 15 AUG 2012) are routed from Lockbox to MSC to local offices,

(again, IMO) - the data system used for tracking cannot 'unbind' the events of

--casefile shipped to local office with

--petitioner interviewed at local office.

IMO - it's a data error. Thousands of I-130s have been routed from MSC to local offices, and the MAJORITY of petitioners were NOT called in for an interview.

IF you want to see what's up - you can get in on an infopass appointment, but - ask for the floor supervisor, and ask the floor supervisor to contact the I-130 Adjudication Unit supervisor and inquire about the appointment.

The big thing that I learned, is that whatever is going on at the local office - an ISO on the national call center doesn't see any status about the what the local office is doing, unless a service request is made WITH that ISO (then you wait 3 weeks for an answer).

IMO, going in, talking with humans, squelshes a lot of silliness , with the silliness being that communications breakdown between the local office and the national call center computer systems.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I received my NOA1 on April 19, 2013. I think I will wait another two weeks then call to see if my case was transferred to local Dallas office. I also filed a k-3 just to see if that route works out. If I understand correclty, the UCIS website will NOT indicate that my file has been transferred. I have to call correct?

yup, you have to call. best to start calling 2 months after the NOA-1 date. use the advanced search tool for my list of questions..

search terms = 'local office'

member name = 'Darnell'

click 'on' -> display as posts

if you don't see the advanced search button here, come back on a PC, ditch the handphone.

I just returned home from my Infopass appointment and I feel like it was a good one. My case is on the I-130 unit's supervisor's desk to be worked by her. It was there already which is very rare according to the IO that was assisting me. She said that the supervisor usually doesn't work cases. My IO spoke with the supervisor who said if there's nothing wrong with my case it should leave her desk soon. The IO couldn't offically say how long, soon would take, but she suggested that I start checking with the NVC and also for online updates in about a week. She also said if I didn't have an update by four weeks that I needed to call the 800 number or come back on another Infopass appointment. I'm making an appointment now to be sure that I have it near the four week point just in case.

The K-3 is a dead end and waste of money. They will only combine it with your CR-1 anyway. As far as calling about being transferred, yes. But if you call and they tell you it is at the NBC hangup and call right back. If you talk to 10 operators you will get different answers from them. I made a info. pass appointment 32 days ago and it resulted in nothing. Waste of time. Wish ya luck. The Dallas office is very busy unfortunately. We are on 3.5 months and waiting.

I have another notice now saying there's a RFI generated. I'll call Monday and see if I can figure out what happened. Otherwise, I guess it's good that we're only a day away for mail.

RFE? RFI ? Yikes. OK. Dallas is a strange beast - I got a postal letter of NOID without any online updating whatsoever.
