Watch the clip above!!!

First article that came out (within UCLA) regarding the incident:

http://dailybruin.com/news/articles.asp?id=38958

After reading a few news article on this, seems like:

Student was spot checked by security (after 11pm no one but students, staff, and faculty allowed in library), he and his lawyer plan to argue racial profiling, as he is an Iranian-American.

Student failed to produce school id.

Student showed no rush to leave.

Security leaves to call police.

Student starts to leave.

Police come in and touch the student.

Student yells at officer, shouting "Don't touch me!" (which can be heard in the youtube clip)

--- this is where the clip sort of begins---

The officer replies to this with a shot from his taser.

The boy yelps in pain and goes limp.

The officers yell at the boy (perhaps cuff him) to stand up.

The boy yells that he was already leaving, and "Here's your Patriot Act, here's your f***ing abuse of power!"

The officers yell at the boy to stand up or "you're gonna get tasered again"

The officers taser him again 3-5 seconds.

The officers yell at him to stand up.

...

The police say that they used the tasers in "drive stun" mode, which sends the electric shock to the part of the body that the taser touches, and would not demobilize a person.

But according to a study published in the Lancet Medical Journal in 2001, a charge of three to five seconds can result in immobilization for five to 15 minutes, which would mean that Tabatabainejad could have been physically unable to stand when the officers demanded that he do so.

There have also been a few cases where death was the ultimate result of the taser.

I am a student and this stuff is damn scary! Imagine if I forgot my student id and was trying to finish my work/studying at the library and was asked to leave. What's even more scary is that he was handcuffed while he was being tasered (at least in the clip!).

Regardless of it being posted before, the OP provided some additional info and a link to the dailybruin which wasn't in the other thread.

I hope this guy does sue their a$$es. As I said in the other thread, this is BS.

woops! I had just watched the clip and the after-effects it had on me just made me want to spread to anyone and everyone...

Did you notice right at the end that one of the other cops was threatening to taser one of the other students?

One things for certain. If this gets to court, and I hope it will, there will a lot of witnesses coming out of the woodwork.

Rodney King:

(I had to find a clip...)

Scary correlation, but they couldn't get Rodney to lie down, whilst cops at UCLA couldn't get Mostafa to stand up...

It was a joke. Most people know about Rodney getting whacked by about 10 cops in California, so it would have to be pretty bad for Rodney to say the UCLA cops used excessing force.

Oh gosh, I did get the joke, don't get me wrong (what with the numerous deaths due to riots that followed). However, I felt the urge to find a clip. I'm a youtube frequent'er (I guess its a Google employee requirement) and thought, what the hey!

It is preposterous to assume that UCLA's got anything on Rodney's cops. :o

Do we have both sides of the story here? It's a little strange that police would just do that to someone innocent obeying orders, in a library..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.
