1400 years of Quranic exegesis and Islamic scholarship says it's wrong under the circumstances and that the methodology used is expressly forbidden. Those who transgress don't care a whit about any of that though.

In this country, laws forbidding activities are broken all the time by people who don't care that what they're doing is unallowed-their selfishness and wants take precedence, or they think the rules just don't apply to them. Their not following the rules doesn't mean that therefore there must exist some kind of true, real allowance for them breaking the rules just because they say there is.

Well you just gave a very succinct definition of the motivation and justification for Radical Muslims and their violent version/perversion of jihad.

Islamic Jihadists/Radical Muslims do feel like Western civilizations are neither indifferent nor peaceful towards Islam/Muslims. Thus making violent actions justifiable under the very definitions your second to last paragraph outlines. They feel attacked, oppressed, and they feel persecuted.

Don't misunderstand me Sandi, I get that Radical Muslims/Islamic Extremists are not following the principles and ways of practicing Islam which most believers of the faith do. That theirs is much more a political based bastardization of Islam and even though they use the same verbiage to describe themselves and their actions, I sincerely see them as wholly different than mainstream Muslims.

I have no fear of Muslims in general and sincerely hope that the actions of these two brothers do not lead others to harass or persecute and harm Muslims solely for their faith. I will hazard a guess that at least some of the Boston bombing victims were Muslim, or at least that the possibility that there might be was not something that the brothers cared one bit about.
