K1 K2 Cancellation

I'll have to cancel my daughter's K2 since she changed her mind.

So what do I have to do? Tell USCIS? Or just let the case go?

I don't want her to be hindered from going to the US if she wants to come visit me and also to not be able to restart a visa program for later if she'd like it.

Thank you for your answers.

You don't need to do anything. If she changes her mind back within a year of you getting the visa, she can do a follow-to-join.

Thank you for your answer.

It's more complicated because she wants to come to our wedding. Will she be allowed?

She wants to stay in France with her dad because she changed her mind and I don't think she'll change it again. She's 17.

Yes, she should be able to use the visa waiver program like any French citizen.

She will probably just be waived through, but just in case, may want to bring proof of enrollment in schoo/university or a job back home.

Ok so I'll go to Paris at the Embassy but without her! What will I tell them then?

What means being waived?

What job? Kids are not allowed to work at 16 in France.

Proof of enrollment at school... Well if we get married in August she won't be in school yet and I hope she'll have the papers to prove she's enrolled in a school.

since the NOA-2 just arrived on 4-19,

and since this is a teenager, with rapidly changing opinions...

just remember - you are no where close to the 'home stretch' at all.

you are 1/2 way done, but it's still 2/3rds more paperwork (funny how that works, aye?)

so - IMO? do nothing this month or next, about chasing after her K-2 or not chasing after her K-2,

as

she'll change her mind 114 times between NOW and the date it's time to sort out Packet 3 documents.

If she'd like to be in France for school and higher education, find Gary's posts about what he did for his step-sons ( Gary & Alla member name) and then study them, study what they did, and study about the calendar on what to do, when to do, for transiting in and out of the USA whilst attending school overseas.

Good Luck, and God Speed ! Recalcitrant Teenagers suck, always !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

You just tell the embassy staff at interview that your child has decided she doesn't wish to immigrate.

The visa waiver is the "thing" that allows most Europeans to visit the USA for 90 days without applying for a tourist visa.

What is IMO?

The program is called the VWP (Visa Waiver Program). ESTA is the bit you fill in online to get aproved for the program.

IMO means In My Opinion.

Thank you!

I'm reassured she can come to our wedding now! Phew!

I thought we were banished from the States if we canceled the process.

In France it's nicer because during the process you can live together. In fact they say it's much better to do it that way because people are more sure to really want to be together. There's no hurt.

If it had to be started all over again, I'd do it in France first. 9 months wait is way too much and a big joke!

After my approval, it's not over yet!

Is it true that if we cancel we're not allowed on the US land anymore?

After my approval, it's not over yet!

After the I-129F Petition approval, the Visa Chasing has yet to start !

However, even after YOUR interview date in Paris, the child has up to 1 year past that date, to interview for a K-2 as a 'follow to join' .

What's the consensus for today, for 'what to do' ?

Is it true that if we cancel we're not allowed on the US land anymore?

anyone hold a French passport? If so, is easy to chase ESTA on the VWP.

Well yes but I can understand why they change their minds.

So, were you successful in finding and reading Gary's retelling of what his step-sons did for university in the Ukraine, or no ?

I strongly suggest you read it. It'll give you some new ideas.
