I think the major fear was whether he had explosives with him or not. It all played out in the end, no more innocent people injured. The people are still out in Watertown cheering as each police car goes by. Cops don't get many thanks and they really deserve it tonight. Now the big question, did they act alone or is this an international plot?

On that I agree. They did a good job on this one and especially catching him alive. Since he's an "enemy combatant" I guess there are ways to make him talk. I do wish they had chosen to treat him as just another citizen, read 'em his rights and all, give him a trial, and send him down there with Tim McVey.

No, they didn't and yes they did make that decision. Citizen or not US attorney announced that he was being treated as enemy combatant under the terrorism laws in the press conference and not subject to Miranda rights.

They didnt need to do that.

I say give him frickin Clarence Darrow as an attorney and he's still a goner. Dude's caught red-handed but we can still give him a fair trial. They are risking the court overturning the conviction by applying out-of-US laws to his case.

See above. That law is untested in the court system and I cannot see the court holding up the conviction if they do not follow due process. They are risking having the WHOLE THING overturned.

A great job was done by all, including the citizens of Watertown and the areas that have been in chaos all week. I think a lot was learned from 9/11/2001.
