Please see my long post above. Now is the time to get your Congress person (US House Representative) involved. It appears that MSC is sending petitions to local field offices, and after the local offices adjudicate and approve them, they are sitting on them, instead of sending them in a timely fashion to NVC.

Or Senator's office. But yes, I concur.

Thank you both! I am going to contact Senator this morning, faxing the privacy release form and all. Congressman's office in my district were not that helpful.

That sounds about right, Memphis, it's right in line with what happened to our case file. Glad you saw some resolution on this. :)

Hello all:

I happened to have similar situation.

Received I-130 approval notice(with MSC number) at April 4. Called NVC every day after one week and they wait me to wait 15 business day.

As of April 30, it has passed 15 business day and my case is still not in their system.

They asked me to send NOA2 notice to nvcsearch@state.gov.
I am at San Jose, CA.
Should I wait a little bit more before contact Congress man or Senator?
What is the best way for me?
Thanks!

Here is the letter that I have just sent to the Houston field office:

My case was also adjudicated at the San Antonio office, and we are waiting almost 5 weeks now for NVC to receive it. Did you send this letter by mail?

If this drags on for us another few weeks, I am thinking of sending something similar, and was looking for their email address, but couldn't find one.

And do you think we should also reference the same Mr. from the Bureau of Consular Affairs at DoS? What's the fella's name?

I sent email to nvcresearch some 12 days ago (still no response) and emailed the congressman's office today.

Thanks!

Just remember when contacting your congress or senator to make sure you print out the release form that will be on their webpage. Most will not start to help you till that is faxed or mailed in.

I contacted the office of the US house representative for my district and got the email address. The person I talked to was a "caseworker" and said she would be handling this matter. So I never got to speak with the representative directly. I got the privacy release form from their web site, filled it out on the computer and pasted my scanned signature, and emailed it along with the approval notice. No response yet, but will follow up tomorrow.

Didn't contact the senators. I know they don't like it when you reach out to multiple congressman on the same matter.

There are advantages and disadvantages to asking all 3 (US Representative and 2 US Senators for help). In Texas, one advantage is that both senators are on the immigration committee. It is very unlikely that you will ever be talking directly to the representative or senators about these issues. In fact, it is their staff people ("caseworkers") who specialize in various areas. Thus, there will be a specific staff person or two who handle immigration issues and have phone numbers and email addresses of liaisons in USCIS, NVC, etc. it is very interesting to read the State Dept. foreign affairs manual --- it gives specific guidelines about how quickly they must respond to congressional inquiries. Too bad they don't feel any urgency about responding to US citizen petitioners...
