This isn't regarding anything immigration related, I just wanted to share this with the friends I have made here. Today, sadly we had to have our dog Lilly ,a Welsh Corgi put to sleep. She was a beloved part of our family for 12 years, and to my husband Moath since he arrived here in October. Before Moath arrived here in the US he was petrified of dogs, but from the moment he walked through our front door she welcomed him with her gentle demeanor and they became fast friends, after a few short days Moath and Lilly became inseparable. The man who was so afraid to even sit next to her, grew to love her as much as the kids and I did. She went everywhere and did everything with us ever since the day we had her, she was a best friend, a confidant, she brought so much joy into our lives, never judged us she was kind and gentle and loyal, loved us for us, not for what we could give her. I could go on and on about what a gift she was to us, words cannot even describe how much I loved her, and how much I will miss her until the day we meet again. I am truly heartbroken, this is beyond a doubt one of the most difficult days of my life crying.gif....

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

So sorry for your loss. I have 3 dogs who I cherish and are truly like my little children. I cannot even imagine what the day will be like when one of them leaves this world. I know I will be heartbroken. That being said, please don't grieve too long and go adopt from a shelter where thousands of beloved animals are put to their death every year for no fault of their own. I think it's one of the greatest ways to honor the pet we no longer have by our side. Peace be with you!

I'm so sorry about Lilly...I know how it feels to lose a long-time pet (my 14 year old cat- child).

I know you will always miss her and remember everything about her. It was a few years before I was ready to adopt another cat, feeling guilty that I was replacing mr. kitty, but when you are ready, a new dog for your family can be a new great beginning with a new friend, especially from a shelter that needs rescuing (F)

Last weekend I lost an 18 year old cattle dog and it was so hard to see her slip away. This dog had spent years putting horses in their pens , riding through the hills and keeping us safe from rattle snakes and sneaking out to sit outside my sons school yard all day just to escort him home. She is now under her favorite plum tree.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

thank you so much and I am sorry for your loss as well heart.gif. What a wonderful place for her to be, close to the family she was lucky enough to have loved for her days here on Earth. We are cremating Lilly, my kids didn't want me to bury her in case we ever move. I am so heartbroken for them

Awww Mimo I'm so sorry. I lost my dog who was my best friend for 12 years in December. I still miss him a lot. He wasn't a Corgi, but Corgis hold a special place in my heart. Hope one day to get one! They are great, happy little dogs. And I think your Corgi had the greatest life a dog could want with your family. Hugs!!
