Just thought I'd post as well. We are joining today's plethora of RFE's going out today. Our NOA1 was Sept 4. I'll also note that we front loaded and hired a lawyer that deals in immigration to help gather things. So I'm curious to see what they still need. So while I'm excited it got seen by someone, I'm anxious to find out what they need. At least they really are doing some work now at CSC.

yes at least they are doing something at CSC. Maybe September files were effected by the "plumbing incident" Mine is Sept 21 so still waiting but fully expect a RFE now

take care

@Tahoma, I don't think it's that bad. I think had we gone into it without the lawyer we would have submitted alot less info up front. I've heard the rumors about some flooding issues at CSC, so we'll wait and see and then post what they wanted from us. I know the info for the USCIS isn't supposed to be that much, but right now, I'm just happy they've finally gotten to our applications after all of these months. As most of us know on VJ, it's quite costly to date halfway across the world :-) We were already planning my fifth trip and with this movement, maybe that trip becomes the one to bring her here instead of just another visit. We can always hope and pray.

I agree: you could have saved all the money you paid your lawyer and, instead, could have gotten an RFE on your own.

My condolences. (F)

I agree. Just can't understand why on earth hire a lawyer when all those forms ask for are personal data and circumstances of meeting with fiance(e).

no use hiring a lawyer, i have heard of many couples getting RFE's and mostly from lawyers filling out the paper work, there's no better person to fill out forms than on your own! nly u know what's best and what to prove to USCIS, best of luck!!

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
