Hi Sheng - If you submitted the I-130 petition below are the next steps:

1. Wait for the NOA1

2. Wait for the NOA2

3. While waiting, gather all the documents for your mom: Birth certificate, marriage cert of your parents, death cert of father (if applicable), police clearance, fill out DS230, your marriage cert, two 2x2 photos, photocopy of biographic page of your mom's passport, etc.

4. Also prepare for Affidavit of Support and supporting docs: paystubs, employment letter, tax transcripts and a completed and signed I864 form.

5. When you get your NOA2, NVC will assign you a case number. Call NVC daily and get the case number and invoice identification number and check this site to see if you are able to make the payment for the AOS. https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx (or google NVC Payment Portal) - This is also the same site to pay for the IV fee bill.

6. Email the DS3032 to NVC.

7. By this step you should have an idea of what to do next.

Here's my timeline:

December 15, 2013 – Sent I-130

December 18, 2013 – USCIS Received I-130

March 13, 2013 – Received RFE letter (birth certificate not too clear)

March 14, 2013 – Sent Reply to RFE letter

March 20, 2013 – NBC received my Response to RFE

March 21, 2013 – NOA2 (Approval from USCIS)

April 9, 2013 – Got the Case Number over the phone from NVC agent.

April 9, 2013 – Emailed DS3032 to NVC

April 15, 2013 – Paid AOS fee bill online to NVC

April 15, 2013 – Sent AOS (I-864)and supporting docs

April 18, 2013 – Got email reply from NVC regarding the DS3032 (Incorrect year of my bday). Sent another DS3032.

April 29, 2013 – Got email reply from NVC accepting the DS3032. Payment for IV fee not available yet online.

XXX – Paid IV bill online to NVC and printed Cover sheet

XXX – Mailed DS 230 and supporting docs

XXX – Medical Appointment

XXX – Embassy Interview

XXX – Received Visa on hand

It takes about 7 months total if you are looking for a rough answer. 6-8 months is a realistic range.

Hi Alex..my IR5 timeline..

Dec 12, 2012 - sent I130

March 1, 2013 - I130 approved

March 18, 2013- NVC got our case

March 22, 2013- got our case #

April 5,2013- paid the AOS

April 6, 2013- mailed AOS thru UPS

April 6, 2013- emailed the DS3032

April 15, 2013- they accept my choice of agent

April 17, 2013- invoice for DS230

April 18, 2013- paid my IV fee

April 19, 2013- false checklist received via email

April 19, 2013- got an email from NVC they received and accepted my AOS

April 22, 2013- sent DS230 documents via fedex....

Hope this helps....I am trying to get my mom's medical @ st. Lukes way ahead just in case if theres something wrong it helps to know early before the interview.
