I'm missing something here........why did Stowe say an Islamic greeting to a Jew? Why didn't he say Shalom instead? Did Stowe really expect the guy to be polite back, especially in NYC? Sounds like Stowe was being sarcastic or trying to get a rise out of the Jewish guy.
