I also have a mail question:

So we had some confusion over the address, I emailed the consulate last week, and then called the DOS on Tuesday. The DOS told me that they had received the address correction and that a new packet was sent out that day, May 28.

So I'm just wondering if anyone has recent knowledge of how long it takes to receive the mail now with the new system.

She lives in Guangdong close to GZ so there shouldn't be much of a mail delay once it gets out of the building.

I'm just hoping it doesn't take more than a couple of weeks...

recent knowledge? Mail? What ?

whats up with registering on the ustraveldocs website?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yes so we are scheduled for June 25 for the interview. Everything's paid and ready to go. We paid with a Chinese debit card by the way, not even hers, she had a friend log onto the website and pay no problem with that.

Since she has the appointment document she's going to do the medical check next week.

So all we need is to receive P3, return it, and get the email we need to take with us.

It's somewhat out of order, but I think as long as we get P3 soon, we'll be okay.

Are you doing k1?p3? If yes, mine was sent out on 21st according to dos and he still hasn't received yet. Emailed consulate three times? No response.

It's a K1, just waiting on packet 3.

Don't expect too much from the Consulate email. Each time I've received a reply it doesn't really fit our situation. I think they just have canned responses they copy and paste as a reply. I didn't really know what was going on until I spoke with the DOS and they were very helpful. I just asked the lady at DOS my status and she said " oh yes, they received your email last week and sent out another packet." I didn't tell her anything and she knew that from the notes on our file.

Consulate sent me an email on 21st stating they sent the p3 out already but till today he hasn't received yet. He is in Beijing and it has been 9 days. Ask a few girls almost same p2 day and it seems nobody has received yet. You guys are smart to schedule first because all June appointments are taken. I have to wait till July open up. Pls let me know if your fiancée can do the medical exam without the email. Thanks.

From what I understand you just have to have the appointment letter which we have. I can let you know next week how that goes.

Okey. Another girl who just past the interview told me she was turned away when she forgot to bring the email. Hopefully you are right so I can have my fiancé to do it now.

I can asked her to call tonight, we usually talk after 8:30. She just called yesterday to find out if she needed an appointment (which you don't, not in GZ anyway). Also they may have told her over the phone what's needed and she just didn't mention it. I'll try to find out for you. :)

She was only asked to bring 5 pictures, her passport, and the appointment letter. They didn't mention anything about the email from the consulate.

So i don't think its needed for the medical exam.

Great. I told my fiancé to give a try on Monday morning. Also, I found a slot open on June 13th so I take it. Hopefully we can get the p3 then p4 by then. Did you get all the paperwork notified?

I don't know what you mean by notified, you mean notarized? I don't think there's anything that needs to be notarized anymore.

Oops, I mean notarized. Her birth certificate, police clearance and single status. All those need to be notarized

They are both originals from the government so I assume they are official. If you're talking about the translations she will have them completed at the notary (gong zheng chu). What's needed for the single status? I haven't read that's it necessary as she's never been married.
