Hi, so i got the interview date, 1st of May, whish is great!

The problem is that I have a planned trip on the 3rd of May (back on the 6th). I don't really want to reschedule the appoitment as i have planned to travel to US at the end of May and don't want to risk not getting my passport back on time.

I was wondering if I can keep the passport after the interview (assuming i'll be approved), travel and then use their courier company to deliver passport straight after im back in UK? Was someone in similar situation, i couldnt find anything for london!

Any advise will be greatly appriciated, I so wish i can avoid delaying or cancelling my planned trips! :help:

It is not where I breathe but where I love that I live.

Yes, you can do that. Be warned that they don't always get back to working on your case the day the passport gets to them. It could go in the "to do" pile and not worked on for a couple of weeks. Most likely you will get it back for the end of May. Some turnarounds are quick and sometime people wait weeks.

  • 4 weeks later...

Just an update in case if someone will be in similar situation.

After an approved interview I was given blue sheet and told "not to be alarmed that it says visa denied as more info needed: passport valid for more than 6 months" - this is standard procedure in case if you want to keep your passport and resend it later. Status on the DOS Visa status check website changed to Administrative Processing same day.

I have arranged for courier to colled my passport on the 7th May - courier arrived early afternoon.

On the 9th DXs tracking website showed "Item delivered to your Embassy/Supplier for processing".

On the 10th status on DOS website changed to Ready. This morning it was changed back to AP but this afternoon it shows star_smile.gifIssued star_smile.gif

Glad I didn't have to wait weeks good.gif and I hope to hear from DX soon!
