That is true. And there was no legislation proposed that would have prevented any law abiding person from acquiring a firearm. What exactly did you celebrate? That criminals and the mentally ill can purchase firearms over the internet and in private transactions at gun shows completely unrestricted? Is that worth celebrating? What if one of them sets target on your kids? Will you then still feel like you've won?
