Really someone please get tin foil............ household items lol

Exactly now you got it - there are 77,000 individuals who broke the law ANNUALLY and there was no action taken by this same administration who wants more regulation.

Post fixed. 2009 was just the first year.

The best thing about America is the revolving door.

This is a lame argument. "If you don't like it you can get out" The constitution was created in a way that allows us to change it. America is not a stagnant country. If we want to change it, we can. We finally outlawed smoking indoors last year. Smokers used to tell me that if I didn't like smoking at bars I should stay home. Does that mean now I should tell them if they don't like non-smoking atmospheres they should stay home?

All true statements. Definitely not a fix all solution. Something must be done though and as I mentioned any gun law can circumvented easily from my perspective. I stand by my thinking of less guns = less gun violence. I think you hit the nail on the head with the genie out of the bottle reference. Most of the gun owners I know either collect guns as a hobby or have them for personal protection. The personal protection folks will never give up their guns as long as illegal guns are easily available on the streets. I'm prob going to buy one soon based on my assumption of the number of bad guys with guns.

How are you going to reduce the violent people?

You're kidding right? What do you live in a cave or something?

Segragate them from society and not in nice quarters. Expand the death penalty. Execute them publicly like they do in Saudi or flog them publicly like they do in Singapore. Lots of ways around the world to deter people from bothering other people or their property. Streets are safer there for sure. If you don't like the suggestions get in line with the rest of the libs who are part of the problem.

OH yeah and for fun pop the odd one who gets caught in a Texas home. Eliminates that revolving door of justice if it gets handled right on the spot.

So change it. Lemme know how that worked out for ya.

It would be good if we didnt continually try to subvert it though. Doesn't build confidence in the lib thought process at all.

I live near a cave....... does that count? Its actually a very impressive cave

What line would I get in? Like as in, if i disagree with something in the states tell it to the wall?

I don't want to live in SA or Singpore. I want to live in the USA and not get shot.

As California goes, so does the nation. California DOJ records all transfers of firearms within the state:

It is not newsworthy to post a story about how the blue state of california has all these great gun laws and doesn't bother to enforce them. Get in line with the other libs.

Solution: Hold a meeting?

I love liberal logic.

So how do you decide who needs less guns.? My gun sat in the corner and did not attempt to kill anything all day. Even when the mail was delivered. Over 1/3 of all mass murders in this country is caused by fire, So we ban matches of the high tech lighters. Perhaps mass produced plastic lighters.

You don't decide. Just limit how many can be produced a year and let the market figure it out.

Ok, I know that a gun won't get up and shoot someone. Everyone knows that. Conservatives act like the ONLY solution is to keep people from using guns on one another is to "put the bad guys in jail" or "hang them." Maybe get rid of rap music or video games? Really??? Come one guys.

Been there. It is impressive.

The line would be the line where you care more about thieves and murderers than law - abiding families.

Wouldnt it be great to have a public database of nuts and criminals who are prohibited from owning firearms, names and addresses? Can't do that. Violates their privacy. With this in mind, my and other's rights in my view to protect ourselves from said nuts and criminals are even that much more important.

Good. Welcome to America, where the right to own and use guns for your own self-defense is protected. For you as well. With the same gusto and energy that your right to complain about that right to others is protected.

The best thing about America is the revolving door. Don't let it hit you on the way out. 2nd Ammendment was written hundreds of years ago. It's not a sudden or recent thing. That's America and either like it or don't.

You're completely misunderstanding my comment. I said that 'it's all about the benjamins' was the rap lyric which sums up the problems I have with the US.

The 'either like it or don't' attitude, by the way, is something that causes a lack of progress. If you don't like something, it's good to try and change it. To be honest, though, if I don't like America, I just go to another country that I prefer. I may do that in the future, depending on how things go, particularly with America becoming more and more of a 'big brother' type of state.

What would Xenu do?

But I don't care about criminals. In fact, I'm sick of criminals going around laws to illegally obtain guns. This is what I want to stop.

Even if we could do it, the govt would suck at it and criminals would steal guns from people in the database, thus avoiding it completely

In America, the people of each generation get to make the law what the majority wants. The founders gave us this option. Pretty good guys for thinking into the future like that.

I mentioned to Charles that i was likely going to buy a gun to protect my family. Just kinda wish I didn't have to. I guess welcome to America huh? (I was born here)

I did. My bad.

We left for awhile and it wasn't all that bad overseas. Opened our eyes quite a bit. We like it here though, and even with a few flaws it's a great country.

Steal guns from a database of nuts and criminals who aren't supposed to own guns? Are you kidding?

It's hard to amend the constitution. A lot harder than passing bans or background checks. I don't see it happening. I don't even see the background checks happening, because when they passed them and do it they don't prosecute the people who violate the law. Welcome to america huh?

I'm saying that if you create a database of people who can't own guns, the people in said database can just steal or borrow a gun from someone not in the database. Then all that money (tax money) put into the database system was circumvented and the bad guy got a gun. I initially read your post backwards. i assumed you mean, a database of people who COULD own a gun. Either way, it would fail

Cmon man, I live in KY. Plenty of local advice to be had

A database of people who cannot own guns would fail? So why impose background checks then? Isn't that accessing a database of people who cannot own guns?

Why not make it a free public database? Then at least we would know who the crazies and criminals are (OH and where they are).
