da bombs were in a steel pressure cooker . The pressure cooker would have been a good potentiator. for a pressure explosion. My guess was they used some highly reactive oxidizer like Hydrogen peroxide. . Mixed it with some common household chemicals that I will not go into here. Packed it with nails, ball bearings etc, and used a remote electronic detonator to set it off.

You are right acetone Hydrogen peroxide or similar substances are unstable. However a bottle of OJ would have made no difference.
