Typical processing time post AP

After 6 weeks of AP, my congressman's office informed me the consulate has issued the visa and my fiancé should be receiving confirmation by mail. Do any fellow VJ members have experience with the typical length of time it takes to have visa in hand from this point? Also is it possible to deliver and/or pick up the passport to/from the consulate in Guangzhou? Thanks in advance and I will update the timeline as soon as I have confirmation from my fiancé that the letter stating that the visa will be issued is received.

No direct pickup, about 7 - 10 days mail time.

Check our signature block for a "typical" visa delivery timeframe. My then-fiancee's home was about 1900 km from Guangzhou, you just have to wait for the deliveryman….

for '1-day off' status, call into DoS Hotline.

You are listening for 'visa packet sent' timetick/status.

Once that occurs, is 1 to 4 days past that for EMS to pick it up and move it around,

then

you can start tracking it with EMS.

USUALLY, when you get any status with EMS tracking portal, it's already at the delivery station ready to go out (or was yesterday) as EMS updates are more mucked up than USPS updates.
