POE on April 10th and how to track green card?

Hi VJers,

I just arrived in San Francisco exactly a week ago(POE on April 10th, How true when Mark Twain once commented "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco"!!!! Such chilly winds...) and now me and hubby are waiting anxiously for my SSN and greencard to arrive since we are planning on relocating to somewhere else soon.

I read the instructions and plenty of posts on this forum to know where to apply for my SSN if it doesn't arrive in due time. How about the green card? I understand it has something to with the USCIS. Is there anyway to track the status of my green card? Or is there somewhere I can enquiry if it doesn't come within one month? What if we want to change our address? Is it a way to do it? Thanks a lot for any reply!

No way to track it, did you pay the fee of 165$ for them to issue the GC before you left your country?

If it doesn't show up you would call USCIS to inquire about it.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Yes, I did and we had the receipt printed out as well.

I know we are a bit anxious since I've just arrived for one week. I guess maybe we just need to be a bit more patient. :yes:

re: to track it - call USCIS hotline, get a human, and ask for the tracking #.

Alternatively - you can check at the CEAC website for status information (i think)

or

check at the uscis web portal using the receipt # that you got when you paid. (gosh I hope that's right as well)

you have a receipt # from paying.

use that receipt #, hit the uscis web portal, and look it up there.

Actually on my receipt I've got a Pay.gov tracking ID and an Agency tracking ID as part of the "Pay.gov Tracking Information". I suppose both IDs can be only used to make sure that the transction is sucessful on the Pay.gov site not really on the USCIS site.

I just checked the uscis web portal with two IDs on the receipt and it didn't work.

Tried the initial uscis case #(mine starting with WAC) it still shows my case was approved on NOv. 26th last year(the NOA2).

Tried the CEAC site it still showed that my CR1 visa has been issued.

I think the only way left is to wait patiently for two or three weeks and hopefully it will come promptly. Otherwise I will call USCIS! :yes: :yes:

If you have your receipt from the payment of the fee keep logging in the USCIS site to check it there. Mine updated daily and once the card was sent it showed me the tracking number for each of our green cards at which point I could go track them on the postal tracking site.

It took 3 weeks for the green cards to arrive but about 12 days for the SSNs. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. NOT the receipt from the pay.gov site, that one is useless. Even when I called in it was no help to me. I meant a receipt as in a Notice form like your NOA1 and NOA2. When you get THAT you will be able to track it. Ours started with SRC.

hi we were the same POE san francisco and same date of arriving...what time did you arrive? me 8 pm .. i didn't receive my SSN and green card ...
