looks like the next available appointment for Charlotte is December 14th. I have heard checking later at night can really help as they *release* the cancelled appointments at night. Apart from that, I don't think there is anything else you can do.

thanks for the advice guys but as off today I have decided to give up trying. Meeting is next week. Shame Trinidad and Tobago sounded nice :-)

If your reason was to attend a business meeting and you dont yet have EAD they they would be questions asked about why you are working without the required authorization.... of course it could be voluntery work that does not require EAD...

Many of the offices will still see you if you drop in. If it isn't far, why not just go to your DO anyway?

I'd think an invitation from the WHO would be a pretty compelling reason.
