Your travel plans are irrelevant to when you can get a passport, if you are asking if they will issue one before the weekend it is very unlikely. Expedited service for passports normally take 10-14 days.

Good luck,

I just applied for my passport at the LA passport agency. They require proof of travel so I don't know how you're going to meet that requirement. Because I have an international flight that departs on Friday I was told my passport will be ready Thursday 9 am. Even with my flight booking the person was questioning why my travel is so soon, do I need a visa etc.

Hmmm, traveling by car, guess the DOS never thought about that. Could take a walk through that desert. Interesting, let us know how you make out. Did drive to Mexico without a passport, but that was like about six years ago. Same with Canada as my company had divisions in both countries.

Sure a lot of government thought was put into this, even though every terrorist that came here to do extensive damage had valid passports. If there is logic to prevent this by making all the rest of us having passports to visit our neighboring countries, it is slightly beyond my reasoning power. But I am just an idiot.
