I don't know if this has been asked in the last week or not....have not seen it....

Our AOS interview is a week from today. Obviously we filed last fall under the 2005 guidelines. I see the new guidelines are effective March 1.

Which guidelines will they use next week - the old or the new? I was BARELY over with the old ones and am about 500 bucks short on the new ones.....

PS already have a co-sponsor lined up but was hoping they would use me......

Hi Rebeccajo:

Glad to see you guys made it!

Unless you've been asked to bring new documentation, the Affidavit of Support you filed should do the trick. The only problem is, it truly depends on who you are dealing with during your interview. You have one way of fullproofing this though...if you have a co-sponsor lined up, and it isn't too much of a bother to fill in another form, have it notarized and have all the back up documents, you should. That way, all your basis are covered.

Liam and I got married a bit later (2 weeks) than you two, so we are still awaiting the approval of our EAD and AOS. We are dealing with the Missouri Service Center, and they seem awfully slow, but we are taking it one day at a time!

Kind Regards,

Lynn and Liam

Do I not prepare a new I-864 then?

I thought I needed too but actually was not sure.....

If you have a co-sponsor ready to sign a new affadavit of support, i would strongly recommend you fill out a new I-864. I think the I-864 needs to meet the requirements at the time your AOS is adjudicated, in which case, you'd need to meet the FY2006 requirements, but I could be wrong..

Sinc you have a co-sponsor, absolutely do another I864, Rebeccajo.

Remember to have it notarized. The interviewer may not ask for it, but have it just in case they do. In fact, if you have a copy of all the documentation that went along with the original I864 submission, bring that along too.

More is better.

Good luck!

Lynn and Liam
