sure it is. what did jesus say?

see? unitarian universalists can be christian..

Jesus said, "anyone who does not pick up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me." Matthew 10:38

In John 14:23-24 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love him. We will come to him and make our home with him. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching.

Those are quotes. Still hearsay. Jesus himself never wrote down a word... All we have are quotes in books, written by men, and therefore intrinsically imperfect.

wonder what jesus meant by cross? we should apply this in context, no?

and i'm sorry, what particular version of the bible are you using? i feel like there are bits left out of your second quote..

The statement that if a person calls themselves a Christian but does not do what the Jesus says then they are not a following Christ, is not subjective.

How does anyone know what Jesus said, since even the Canonized works in the New Testament don't even agree on what He said?

We have the account from multiple witnesses and it was written while eye witnesses who opposed Jesus were still alive. Had this been false then the Christian religion would have been quickly squashed as false. But it stood true then as it does today.

so what about all the religions that are still alive and well today that have not been squashed? are they true too?

We have multiple witnesses who did not collaborate, who each saw the same events from their own perspective and wrote it in their own style of writing. The four books of the cannon are not identical but they do not conflict each other.

so what about all the religions that are still alive and well today that have not been squashed? are they true too?

Has anyone died to pay for your wrongdoing (Sin) and then rose from the dead?

"Truth" is subject to change.

The Bible was not codified into a canon, until long after your "witnesses" were long dead. The current canon dates back to the early fourth century. Further

The chapter divisions commonly used today were developed by Stephen Langton, an Archbishop of Canterbury. Langton put the modern chapter divisions into place in around A.D. 1227. The Wycliffe English Bible of 1382 was the first Bible to use this chapter pattern. Since the Wycliffe Bible, nearly all Bible translations have followed Langton's chapter divisions.

The Hebrew Old Testament was divided into verses by a Jewish rabbi by the name of Nathan in A.D. 1448. Robert Estienne, who was also known as Stephanus, was the first to divide the New Testament into standard numbered verses, in 1555. Stephanus essentially used Nathan's verse divisions for the Old Testament. Since that time, beginning with the Geneva Bible, the chapter and verse divisions employed by Stephanus have been accepted into nearly all the Bible versions.

The account of multiple witnesses is the very definition of 'hearsay'. There are no records left from J himself.

The apocrypha many call 'bible' was translated, adapted and edited to suit the designs of those in power, especially those in charge of the christian faith. It only survived because of its influence within the Roman Empire and its attempt to become that empire itself.

However, if the words of the bible are to be taken as truth, then one cannot read them in context, lest they become temporal.

Not to this day and in my case, that would have been a physical impossibility. I do not subscribe to the notion of sin, therefore such zombie experience would be best left for the producers of horror movies. Special effects are always best left in the hands of the experts.

Well, if you ask if someone has been resurrected, the answer is, yes, it happens every day. The atoms which make up everything all previously made up something else, and will, in the future, make up something else. So, if a woman eats, let's say, tofu, and is pregnant, the protein in the tofu gives nutrition to the baby, and the baby is, in a sense, reincarnated soy bean.

If Jesus existed, he has been reborn several times and is definitely among us. His decayed body surely fueled the growth of something. George Washington, Genghis Khan, and the dog I had when I was a kid are also still among us. Mother nature is really good at recycling.

What gets really interesting is, when you have people who are able to remember details about other people's lives. My theory is, if this is not fake, the cells in the brain which store the memories were somehow transferred into something which became food for the mother of the person who remembers details about other people's lives. But... we really don't know enough about how the brain works and how memories are stored, so we call it souls and spirits. Really, it's all science.

Just my opinion.

What would Xenu do?

It can't always be fake. It's a phenomenon that has been observed in too many people, across every continent, since the dawn of time. It can't always be fake. Those thoughts and/or feelings that present themselves as memories have to be coming from somewhere.

There is more to this world than we can see or hear or feel.
