We will be moving to a new state June 1 and were wondering if my wife needs to get a new green card (by filing I-90) with our new address on it? We're aware that she needs to file the AR-11 and that I will need to file I-865. We just want to make sure that she will be able to work in the new state. Her SS card still says "Not Authorized To Work Without DHS Authorization" as well but she's been working here with no problems. We just don't want to get there and then have to wait a long time for names changes, etc. so we're being proactive. We're due to file I-751 ROC in April of 2014. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Not at all. Your GC does not have an address on it. You need to update your address with USCIS, but that's all. No new card needed.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

You know, I never thought about whether her green card had an address, I just assumed...and we all know what happens when we assume... ...except in this case it's me and ME. :) Thank you for the quick reply!

She is working now in the state we currently live in, so what you're saying is she won't be allowed to work in the new state when we move there? We are planning on filing both AR-11 and I-865 once we move. We should be able to go to the SS office and get a new SS card without the "Not Authorized to Work Without DHS Authorization" just by showing her conditional green card, am I correct?

That member's advice is absolutely wrong, and you are correct.

In fact, I have removed their post pending spammer investigation.
