Like the title asks, Should I send my chat history with my i-129F Petition package? I have at least over 800+ Pages of chat history and that makes for an awful heavy package to send and a lot of ink I have to use to print along with a lot of paper.

I have enough supporting documents about my relationship, Phone history, flight tickets, hotel reservations, photos_

So I'm thinking maybe I don't need the chat history to be printed and sent with my petition if I really don't need it, what do you guys think? Should I just go ahead and print all 800 or so pages and send it in with the package? or should I be comfortable with all the proof I currently have?

Haha its just 800 pages is a lot of paper to print

I would leave out the chat records for the following two reasons:

- USCIS only cares that you are free to marry and that you have seen eachother in person within the last 2 years

- They could question your fiance at the interview about any information that they have. If they have 800 pages of chat records to pick a random question from, and she had forgotten about that particular conversation, it could look bad. For the interview stage, you may want to select one chat from each month to show that you have kept in contact. Nothing more.

Yes you should but not all 800+ pages. Select some that show continuous weekly communication and just the first page of each chat.

I am not familiar with your embassy but in other countries the CO's often will refuse to look at additional evidence

brought to the interview when they already have made their mind up to refuse the visa.

Our CO wanted us to "convince" her that we are bona fide but complained about all the evidence we submitted in person and that she didn't have time to "look through all of that pile...." !!!!

So when you front load it with your petition then they will see it.

Front loading your petition is neccessary in specific countries and cases.

Ask in your regional forum what is your best option from people who have been through it and read the consulate reviews.

Haha its just 800 pages is a lot of paper to print

And a lot of paper to read…. B-) You can be sure that they would read it, if you sent it. However, does sending in 800+ pages of personal chatter serve any practical purpose….. likely not.

China is a country where "front-loading" of the I-129F petition is suggested. When I filed my front-loaded I-129F petition, I inserted about 1 or 2 days per week of Skype logs and Yahoo email messages, and redacted quite a few sensitive portions, along with a good and equal mix of photos, boarding passes, hotel bills, passport stamps. Remember that you want to convince the USCIS adjudicator that you and your fiancé(e) have a bonafide and ongoing relationship, they do not need, nor want to know all of the minutiae.

Your relationship claim that you present to USCIS will best be presented if you have a reasonable representation of ALL of the types of evidence mentioned in the VJ K-1 Visa Guides:

"Documentary Proof of Having Met in Person in the Past Two Years and an Ongoing Relationship:

Use as many of these items as possible. There is no minimum, but the more you can provide the less likely you are that you will receive an RFE. Additionally, please note that providing proof of your ongoing and genuine relationship in this package may benefit you by allowing the consulate to have access to this information prior to them formally contacting the non US Citizen fiance. Many high risk consulates approach cases with a skeptical eye and providing this information early on in the original I-129F package will help them in their preliminary review of your case.

1. Copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, passport stamps (make sure you can read the dates on the stamps), and other documentary evidence that you have met within the last two years. You may want to highlight or place post-it notes indicating the dates and locations on the copies (to make the adjudication easier) for the person reviewing your file.

2. Color Photo's of you and your fiance(e) together. Make sure you write your names, date, and location on the back of every photo. Provide two to five photo's. If you only have a single copy of the photo, then make a color copy and send that. If it is a digital photo, have it printed at a company such as kodakgallery.com. You can also make duplicates of photo's at your local photo store (Walgreeens, CVS, etc). Place photo's in a plastic bag or photo sheet and label the sheet. Note that you may not receive originals of photo's back.

3. The following items will not typically show proof of having met in the last two years however will show proof of an ongoing relationship: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate letters and emails, stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)"

Good luck...

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

Ya, since that casefile is headed to Guangzhou, you need to front-load it.

However, I suggest you pare back the 800 pages of chat to around 200, or 1/4 of what you've accumulated, highlighting major things and events with a yellow highlighter.

AND

include an 'evolution of relationship' letter - here is my example (but it's written for a spousal visa) - EOR - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=260331&view=findpost&p=3995116

So, have a rethink, refactor a bit, focus on relationship stuff to show.

Be wary of anyone not bound for China , giving advice about this.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

this is a very good advice. good.gif someone questioned our front-loading as a waste of paper and causing lots of dead trees and that we include lots of non-sense papers. what's funny is that they actually petitioned someone from my country and they were saying it is easier in our country. lol. since it was easy for them before... but like wat me and my fiance said, what one's experience does not always applies to others. we believe that the consul would take a look at our papers first and decide before the interview. we only send in 27 pages of chat logs but over all our I129F was 380+ pages.now doing our chat logs, and would probably print more pages. I just end up telling these people to not mind our I-129F.biggrin.gif

So, I decided to go through and cut out bits and pieces of my chat history, containing sections of different dates and months and then the most recent few months worth of chat records. I have to say I've ran out of papers to print with lol_

So far I've about at least around 200 pages printed. I have to go buy more paper tomorrow and print out the rest of 54 more pages then I should be set and ready to send it off_ been up all night working on this packet.

For a lot of the proof that I provided, I bought some sticky notes and wrote random information about what I have provided, i.e flight tickets there, back, train tickets to this, that_ hotel receipts, bookings, places of lodging and even the police registration of stay paper that was given to me when I stayed with her and her family during my second visit to China for the spring festival.

I'm going to double check everything tomorrow and hopefully have it sent out by then_

remember, with the proper printer and printer drivers, can print '2 pages to a page' on a printer . I suggest that for chat stuff.
