Congrats!!!! :dancing:

Go apply for your SSN soon.

You mention Vanessa&Tony's AOS Guide, that is a good one to follow. Another good guide is the VJ AOS Guide, available in the GUIDES section.

Good luck.

Get the SSN now. As long as there is at least 2 weeks left on his I-94. http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn

You can file for AOS as soon as you have all the required documents such as a copy of your certified marriage certificate that you get from the court after your marriage is registered. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

Also, since you went through Juarez, you probably did not get a properly filled out DS-3025 with all the required vaccinations marked off on it. You need to get the required vaccinations and have page 1 and 5(vaccinations sheet) of the I-693 filled out by a civil surgeon.

thank you so much for your answers!! Jay-Kay u have been extremely helpful thru my journey, ty so much!! Then ill have to go ASAP to a civil surgeon in order to get the I-693???

You are welcome :)

Call around to find one that won't insist on a whole new medical. You do not have to get another medical if your K-1 medical was done within the year before filing for AOS. You only need the required vaccinations and those 2 parts of the I-693 filled out by a civil surgeon. Some civil surgeons still insist on giving the medical and overcharging. The I-693 and I-485 instructions state that a K-1 visa holder who had their medical within a year is not required to get a new one. Let the civil surgeons know this. You can print out the I-693 and instructions from the forms section of the USCIS website.

Also, there is this long thread about civil surgeons that don't rip you off here on VJ. You might be able to find one in your area> http://www.visajourn...nt-rip-you-off/

The required vaccinations for AOS are: one in a series of MMR, Tdap or TD, varicella(or a history of having chickenpox), and the flu shot(only during flu season from Oct. - Mar.).
