I'm not sure about al qaeda's timeline for taking credit for an attack.

Yeah, I heard them mention it on the news today so I assumed it was a common thing. Haven't been able to find anythin of the webs though so prob made up.

They were saying that if it was Al Queda, they'd be taking credit for it within an hour. I think it was ABC news but I'm not sure since I was still at work.

The IRA was actually the first thing that popped in my mind since it's Boston. I think they're pretty much a thing of the past now though. I guess I watch too many movies. Hard to say at this point.

It's been reported that one man, carrying multiple backpacks was seen walking around the explosion sites. Whether or not that is the man that was questioned at the hospital, is unknown.

I wonder if the timing of these explosions was thrown off somehow. It happened at approx. the 4 hour mark of the marathon, all of the "VIP'S" were gone from the finish line at this point, and the crowd had thinned out significantly.

Very doubtful it's the IRA. They haven't pulled anything like this either on the mainland or in NI in a long, long time. I can't see why the American nutjobs who still align themselves with the rump of that terrorist organisation would do this in the US.

I also believe this was a domestic job and in the end it may turn out it was not politically motivated, as is often the case.

If the bombs had gone off at the height of the marathon finish, approx. the 2 to 2 1/2 hour mark, the casualties would be much higher.

It's amazing that the death toll is so low. I was worried that when I woke up this morning, I'd check the news to see it was much worse.

I'm hoping all those with injuries pull through the best they can.
