July 20th 2012 filer here and I've heard nothing. I've written to both senators and congressman and I'm being repeated the same scripts. My money-grubbing lawyer has proven to be useless. December filers are being approved left and right. My fiancée and I are growing tired and tired of this situation every single day, and it's hurting our relationship. What else can be done? Can any legal action be taken on my part? I've hit a wall and feel totally helpless and hopeless.

I empathize with your current state and can only offer you words of encouragement. Though, if you are anything like me, the words of encouragement offered by family members, friends or even well intentioned people on this site seem to aggravate me at the moment. I can’t even imagine your level of frustration at the nine month point. Kindest regards to you and your loved one and for what it’s worth….your thoughts and frustrations are not falling on deaf ears here. *Big hugs*

I don't think there is much else you can do. Seriously.

If I had nothing to loose, there would be severe consequences for CSC's and my congressman's insolence.

Legally? No. There isn't any practical way to sue the USCIS over this sort of thing, unfortunately. You would end up spending a lot of money on processes that (1) are no sure thing and (2) would likely take months to be completed themselves.

Have you tried reaching out to local media? Perhaps if you could get a newspaper or TV station to get invested in your story, you could have them put pressure on the ombudsman on your behalf.

The best you can do for your personal situation is work on all the preparation for getting your spouse/fiance settled once they are here. Researching jobs, studies, home improvements etc. Getting all the information ready for bank accounts, drivers licences, driving lessons, language lessons, tours of the area for her/him, etc. It will make the time pass faster and help you feel as though you are moving forward even when USCIS is not.

I feel you. We are hitting our 9th month mark on the 23rd and hopefully we hear from USCIS pretty soon as they have already received our RFE response last April 8th.

I wish all us all the best and may this week bring us good news. :innocent:

"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more,
that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds.
And that's what you've given me. That's what I'd hoped to give you forever."

I wrote to the ombudsman yesterday about how later filers, November and December, are being processed at CSC. The person replied that they were able to "locate the issue" that may have caused a few days worth of cases to work out of order. He then said it was a result of the flood a few weeks back, the files being wet and having to be relocated, and therefore them not having access to them. He said that they believe they have resolved the issue and are back on track beginning today.

(I would copy and paste the response but the email explicitly says not to do it)

Ummm so now it is a "flood," not a pipe breaking/plumbing issue? Wasn't this the same issue that supposedly didn't damage ANY files?

lol how many excuses can they make? After we complained to USCIS they actually called my fiance to reassure us that no files were affected by the burst pipe.

Now if they are back on track today (which I seriously doubt but I have been praying for a miracle) then I will be a very happy girly indeed!

Yep, backpedaling and making excuses. Dealing with USCIS is like dealing with a 10 year old.

I think that is true what he said in the email response.

As I said in another thread, yesterday have been approved 5 cases and 11 got RFE(all of them from 17 July). Only 20 left to be adjudicated for this date.

Didn't get to the 18th July(got bored of searching rofl)
