Hi,

I've heard that despite using electronic filing and submitting DS260 electronically the MTL consulate asks to fill DS230 while doing the interview. Is this accurate and does it still happen?

This used to be accurate. When I interviewed back in May 2011, they still wanted a DS-230, despite submitting a DS-260. (Thank goodness I read this beforehand on VJ and had a DS-230 already filled out before the interview). Now, though, Montreal no longer needs the DS-230 as they've gotten used to the online system. You can bring a DS-230 still if you wish, but it shouldn't be needed.

I just had my interview last month and they DID NOT ask for the DS230 at all. I never even filled it out. I brought a copy of my DS260 and they didn't even ask to see that either.

I submitted all my paperwork via e-mail (electronic processing). All they asked for were the originals of the documents I submitted via e-mail (birth certificate, marriage certificate etc.). Hope that helps.

They did not ask me for one, either. I did print my DS-260 when I completed it online so I could take it with me. The reason I did this was because of stories here where people went for interviews and the computers were down.
