Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forums and super confused as to where to post this under (spouse, bringing in family members or work?!)

In a nutshell I'm married to a US Citizen and we're living in Australia with him here on the 820 Visa.

I've been offered my dream job in America which has blown me out the water.

But I'm unsure what visa would be best, there's so many and I'm really struggling.

I am aware that my employer may be able to assist in sponsoring me under a worker visa but that hasn't been discussed yet, and I need to have a backup plan because this job is amazing!

What would be the best options for me to go with my spouse back to America which would allow me to work also (in the event of the employer being unable to sponsor me that is)

Your best and only option is to have your husband petition you for IR-1/CR-1 visa - problem is it will take 6 months to a year for you to get it. Your employer - unless you are already are working for them - will be unable to get you a work visa earlier than that anyway as all H-1B are already gone for FY2014.

Hi,

Are you an Australian citizen? If you are, you should have a look at the E-3 visas. These visas are only available for Australian citizens.

I'm not sure how long it takes to get the visa.
